Need to find the closest recycling can in New York City? Well, now there’s an app for that, thanks to #Reinvent Green, the City’s first sustainability Hackathon, which was held in Downtown Brooklyn last weekend.
The weekend event at NYU-Poly was sponsored by NYC Digital and challenged more than 100 developers to devise spectacular digital apps for a more sustainable lifestyle. From finding the closest farmer’s market to linking up with other cyclists to “bikepool” to work, these apps aim to digitally inspire New Yorkers to make the City a greener place.
Following the event, the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership hosted a reception at La Défense to celebrate all of the participants.
